When investors make money over time, they can feel empowered and optimistic about the future. When investors lose money over time, they lose confidence in Wall Street and the market's ability to meet their financial goals. Our focus with clients, whether an individual or institution, is on performance - to help them preserve and grow wealth over time. So how do we do this? By investing in rising stock market trends (risk on), and moving out of falling stock market trends (risk off). Our experience over the past 22 years has shown us that to simply "buy and hold" investments in the stock market does not work well over the long haul. The problem with "buy and hold" is that it takes too long to recover from a major market drawdown. For example, from 2000 to 2003 the S&P 500 Index dropped over 47% from top to bottom; and it was not until June of 2007 before the market rebounded. Then, just as investors were feeling like they could start making money again in the market, the S&P 500 Index dropped over 52% from top to bottom starting in late 2007 through the end of the 1st quarter of 2009. Who knows how long it will take for the S&P 500 Index to get back to the level set in October 2007? We want our clients to make money over the long haul even if the markets do not. As a result, we created Trend Management - An asset mananement strategy that uses trend analysis designed to help move client assets into the market in rising market trends, and take client assets out in falling market trends. The objective of the Trend Management strategy is to achieve portfolio performance that resembles a "rising staircase" over time rather than a "jagged sawtooth pattern". Helping our clients grow and preserve their wealth in order to facilitate their dreams is what we are all about. We would welcome the opportunity to introduce you to our process. Past performance is no guarantee of future results. There is no assurance that any investment strategy will meet its stated objective. |
